Centereach resident Chaleek Williams, 25, was arrested shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, for allegedly trying to sell crack cocaine on the playground at the Oxhead Road Elementary School while he was with his 2-year-old daughter, according to Suffolk County Police. At the time of his arrest, Williams was also in possession of MDMA and became combative with officers, said police.
Williams was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of narcotics, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child.
Following his arrest, Williams was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is expected to be arraigned in Central Islip on Thursday. The child was released to a family member.
